Date and timings:

The Amathunta Half Marathon and 10 km Road Race are scheduled for Sunday 23rd November 2008. Both the start and finish areas are located at the ancient city Kingdom of Amathunta. Start time for both running events is 09:00 hrs.

Minimum age:

The minimum ages for event entries are:

	10km: 15 years

Categories:

Trophies will be awarded to the first three runners in each of the 32 categories (Minimum requirements is 6 men/5 women runners for each category).

Organiser:

The event is organised by 'NIKI Sports Management' in co-operation with Agios Tychonas Community Board.

Awards:

Teams with four or more runners will automatically be entered in the team competition (first four runners to count). Trophies will be awarded to the first three teams (over all) in the Half Marathon event only.

Everyone who finishes the Amathunta Half Marathon and 10 km Road Race will receive a beautiful, unique medal plus a special commemorative Half Marathon T-shirt (indicate T-shirt size requirements on the Entry Form) as a memento.

Event awards will be presented at a ceremony to be held at the ancient city of Amathunta starting at 11:30 hrs. Those runners unable to attend this ceremony may claim awards from the organisers, via mail, at a later stage.

Time limit:

There is a time limit of 3 hours for the half marathon.

Event rules:

The event will be conducted in accordance with the Cyprus Amateur Athletics Federation (KOEAS), and the International Amateur Athletic Federation (IAAF) rules. Distance was measured according to AIMS regulations.

Medical support:

The Cyprus Association of Sports Medicine will offer full medical support throughout the event. In addition an ambulance will follow the runners and pickup those runners who will dropout of the race. Post-race physiotherapy care/advise will also be offered for those athletes needing such treatment.

Fruit:

Ample quantities of seasonal fruit, will be offered free of charge after the race.

Drinks:

ISOSTAR Energy Drinks, KEO beer, KEO Fruit juices and Saint Nicholas Mineral Water will be offered free of charge to all participating runners after the race.

Insurance/indemnity:

All participants are strongly encouraged to take out suitable personal cover for injury, damage or loss of equipment. The organisers will not be liable for such incidents as a result of either participation in, or attendance at the event.

Entries and payment details:

Entrants should use the Entry Form and return it upon completion together with the appropriate entry fee via cheque (for Cyprus residents only)/Credit Card made payable to: 'NIKI Sports Management'. All registrations will be confirmed by post if received on or before November 14, 2008. No registration transfer will be allowed and no refund will be made, whatever the reasons.

Registration deadline:

All entries should be received by Friday 14 November 2008. Late entries (those received after 14 November 2008) will be accepted at the discretion of the organising committee, but must be accompanied by an extra €5.00 handling fee.
